Fire at the Fredin North America Plant Affects the Supply of Magnesium Alloy Components for Commercial Vehicles
Ford Motor Co. said recently that the production of F-150 and Super Duty pickup trucks in various US factories will stop due to a fire at a manufacturer of auto parts and components at the Meridian Magnesium Products plant.
According to reports, the fire occurred on May 2 at the Meridian plant in Michigan, and local authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. GM, Fiat-Chrysler, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, whose production order and plans have been disrupted.
